  5. Here is a treat for the holidays.

  7. All files related to the Fighter Duel Pro2 demo are copyright ©1993-94 by
  8. Jaeger Software, Inc.  As long as all files are kept together and intact,
  9. they may be posted to any bulletin board system or used in the Fred Fish
  10. collection.

  17. This is a flyable demo!  It just barely fits on a single disk, but it does
  18. need some files from workbench which we can't distribute this way.
  19. It will run fine from a ramdisk or from your harddisk.
  20.  
  21. FDPRo2 and it's demo requirments:
  22.  
  23. - Any Amiga model with Kickstart 1.2 or higher. 
  24. - 2mb of Chip Ram or 2mb of Fast Ram.
  25.   Runs on stock A1200s or A600s with just 2 mb of Chip Ram.
  26.   (Make sure as much ram as possible is available on stock A1200 or A600s)
  27.   Increased performance and added features with more ram and or advanced
  28.   processors.
  29. - AGA mode requires an Amiga 1200 or 4000 with a monitor capable of
  30.   displaying DBLNTSC or DBLPAL NOFLICKER screen modes.
  31. - Joystick, digital or analog.

  34. Fighter Duel Pro2 has many features and playmodes.

  37. WHAT YOU GET.
  38. With this demo you may fly any aircraft and or try out the new stationary
  39. gunner.  You may fly against two enemy Spitfires in 1 Player Standard
  40. modes. You may select other enemy aircraft to view their specifications,
  41. but you will always actually get Spitfires.

  43. WHAT YOU DON'T GET.
  44. You can't pause while flying, therefore you can't access the in-flight menu
  45. system that normally allows you to switch your aircraft, your enemies
  46. aircraft and their skill levels.  To switch these you will have to reboot
  47. and reselect. You can't save your preferences from the Startup-Interface.
  48. None of our famous 2 player modes are allowed, including the new 2 Seater
  49.  Pilot/Gunner modes and Wingman modes.

  84. AGA MODE
  85.  
  86. To utilize FDPro2.Demo's new AGA mode, set your workbench for NTSC or Double
  87. PAL, and turn mode promotion on in preferences. Ethernet software software
  88. should be disabled before running this demo.

  92. Warning: This program takes over and stops all other tasks once you hit the
  93. BEGIN FLIGHT button.  You will have to reboot to quit.

  96. RUNNING FDPRO2.DEMO FROM THE CLI
  97.  
  98. To run FDPro2.Demo from the CLI or from a program launching program that simulates
  99. CLI launch, follow these instructions.
  100. Cd to the directory in which FDPro2.demo resides. Give FDPro2.demo its path as a
  101. command line arguement enclosed in double quotes. Make sure to add a trailing
  102. backslash if the path does not end in a full colon.

  110. USING THE CH FLIGHTSTICK PRO ANALOG JOYSTICK
  111.  
  112. To use a CH FlightStick Pro's top "hat"
  113. switch with FDPro2, you must either have an IDD Amiga Smart Port or an
  114. analog adapter specially wired for use with FDPro2 and the FlightStick Pro.
  115. Except for the IDD Amiga Smart Port, all known adapters do not have the proper
  116. wiring for the "hat". This includes the DigiPrint adapter. Without the proper
  117. adapter, the "hat" will only show you the view to the rear.

  119. REARVIEW
  120.  
  121. FDPro2 and its demo have the ability to hook another Amiga to its parallel
  122. port and have it display the rearview from the aircraft at all times. 
  123. This requires a FDPro Parallel adapter and two centronics parallel cables.
  124. The adapter is available from Jaeger Software, Inc.

  127. KEYBOARD COMMANDS
  128.  
  129. Here are most of the new keyboard equivalents for aircraft functions in FDP2.
  130.  
  131. P     = Pauses Program and allows access to in-flight menus ( NOT IN DEMO )
  132.  
  133. Q     = Quiet, toggles on and off sound.
  134.  
  135. 0     = Recenter Analog stick and or Analog rudder pedals
  136.  
  137. T     = Move at 16 times present velocity. Known as Turbo mode.
  138.  
  139. B     = War Emergency power(Boost) only on certain aircraft.
  140.  
  141. S     = Score
  142.  
  143. Del/Help = Brakes while on deck.
  144.  
  145. Both mouse buttons = Adjusts Lead computing optical gunsight. Move it
  146.                      forward and back.
  147.  
  148. View Cursor keys:
  149.     left and right  =  look left and right.
  150.     forward         = look straigh up.
  151.     back            = look back.
  152.     left & forward  = look left and 45 degrees up
  153.     right & forward = look right and 45 degrees up

  155. Help  = Locks view
  156.  
  157. Del   = Cancels view lock
  158.  
  159. A     = Arm/Disarm guns/glidescope indicator
  160.  
  161. G     = Landing gear cycle
  162.  
  163. H     = Lower hook.
  164.  
  165. W & E = Flaps up and down.
  166.  
  167. L     = Launch from catapult.
  168.  
  169. Z     = Throttle Up

  171. X     = Throttle Down
  172.  
  173. C     = Left Rudder
  174.  
  175. V     = Right Rudder
